SUPPORT: ARAYUÉ & OSCAR FERDINAND

From the depths of the Spree and its canals come the River Rats! They drag two guitars, a double bass and a violin through the dark tunnels of Berlin to their moonlight sessions.

Influenced by the muted sounds of Django Reinhardt, the heart of Variété française and the spirit of old-time country and blues, they wander between the ragged recesses of the Kreuzberg streets and the glamorous grand theater.

With members from France and Germany, the River Rats combine north and south, darkness and light, contemplation and dance-like euphoria.

Arayué is inspired by the fantasy of a tropical dream island that Rubén Blades sang about in his hit, with a twist. In 2019, seven different musicians from Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina came together to bring the sun, spontaneity and nostalgia of their Latin American homeland to the mostly gray Berlin landscape.

They break all the rules of the classic Latin genres they grew up with, like cumbia, salsa, samba and bachata: expect the unexpected in their arrangements.

Arayué always keeps the audience on their toes, dancing between sweet folk vocals, delicious grooves and ecstatic chaos. They are known for both their energetic, interactive live performances and the colorful artwork of the band's saxophonist and digital artist Barbara Pavlova. Take a trip to Arayué Island, where a surprising tropical adventure awaits you.

Oscar Ferdinand Buschinger is a multi-instrumentalist (cello, clarinet, guitar, vocals, piano), singer-songwriter and music producer from Normandy with close connections to the Berlin music scene. He gives happy and energetic concerts in Europe, where he combines jazz, world music and French chansons.
