As part of the THFxGESCHICHTE series, Volker Kutscher reads from his novel ‘Olympia’.

Olympia is the eighth volume in his successful Gereon Rath series, known from the ARD series Babylon Berlin. The historical crime novel takes readers to the heart of the 1936 Olympic Games – and into a dangerous web of political intrigue. One scene is set in the notorious Columbia concentration camp, which was once located on the grounds of Tempelhof Airport.

Following the reading, Kutscher will talk to historian Dr. Karoline Georg about the literary examination of National Socialism and the historical context of the novel. Dr. Georg is the director of the Stille Helden memorial and a renowned expert on the Columbia concentration camp.
