Permanent exhibition on rail transport

From March 2024, the German Museum of Technology will be showing the new permanent exhibition on rail transport in the historic locomotive shed under the title “Railroad: Revolution and Everyday Life”.

The cultural-historical look at the railway as a means of transport illuminates how it has influenced society, the economy and everyday life since its founding and continues to have an impact today. In the first completed section of the exhibition revision, the period from the beginnings of the railway to 1914 is presented on an area of 1,700 square meters in engine shed 1.

Clear structure, captivating large photos, animated films, interactive media stations, hands-on activities and improved accessibility of the content offer adults and children alike a great visiting experience.
