Marzahn-Hellersdorf is home to the largest prefabricated housing estate in Europe. Under the title "Plattenammlung", the exhibition draws attention to the special architectural features and life in the estate.

The photography exhibition focuses on the history of the identity-forming large housing estates, their urban features, the buildings and the people as well as the developments in recent years. Two routes are presented, which interested parties can explore independently or on a guided tour.

"Plattensammlung" outlines the course of the two routes through Marzahn and Hellersdorf in a vivid way. Some of the stops along the two routes are briefly introduced. While the Marzahn district tour starts at the Old Town Hall on Helene-Weigel-Platz, the route ends at the Freizeitforum on Marzahner Promenade. The route through Hellersdorf starts and ends at the Marzahn-Hellersdorf Tourist Information Centre and runs along the WBS 70 museum flat, the Hellen Mitte and the Hellersdorfer Promenade. Two flyers, which are available at the tourist information centre, are intended to help interested parties discover the two routes on their own.

In addition to the presentation of the two routes, the exhibition will also show the results of the "My favourite Platten" photo competition, in which participants were asked to capture the special features of the Platten buildings in Marzahn and Hellersdorf from their personal perspective.

Visitors can look forward to more than 100 submissions with very individual and creative perspectives.
