This salon concert in an atmospheric Biedermeier setting will feature classical and Christmas music from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Adrian Robanus, pianist and curator at the Kleist Museum in Frankfurt (Oder), will play music from around 1800 on the historic Lyra grand piano in the Knoblauchhaus Museum.
The pieces will include sonata movements and variations on pieces by composers Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In addition to the classical works, Christmas piano music will also be heard.
Between the pieces, Adrian Robanus will talk about how music was made in the home and in the salon around 1800.
