Markus Wenz studied in Hanover and Berlin, followed by further studies in Vienna, Lucerne, Salzburg and Nice. He took part in the song interpretation classes of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Aribert Reimann in Berlin.

As a soloist and chamber musician Markus Wenz has performed in France, Austria, Russia and the USA, among others. He can be heard in radio recordings and CD productions and teaches in Berlin, including at the University of the Arts, the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and at the music schools in the Spandau and Mitte districts.
