Jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein has been a part of the New York jazz scene since 1989. Since then, he has participated in over 200 recordings and countless festival, concert, and club performances with musicians from all generations. He has recorded as both a leader and sideman for some of the world's top labels, including Criss Cross, Smoke Sessions, and HighNote. His first big break came during his studies at the New School when he met the legendary guitarist Jim Hall. Hall invited Peter to perform at his concert during the 1990 JVC Jazz Festival.
Peter has also maintained a long-standing musical connection with the legendary drummer Jimmy Cobb, as well as with organist Larry Goldings and drummer Bill Stewart as a member of their highly acclaimed trio. The New York Times called them "the best organ trio of the last decade." Together, they recorded a dozen albums, all of which showcase their distinctive sound. From 1995 to 1997, Peter was a member of Joshua Redman’s band, and from 1999 to 2001, he played with Diana Krall's quartet and with the legendary organist Dr. Lonnie Smith.
In addition, Peter has performed with bands led by jazz greats such as Sonny Rollins, Lee Konitz, Klaus Doldinger, Bobby Hutcherson, George Coleman, Ryan Kisor, Jim Rotondi, Etta Jones, Nicholas Payton, and many more. His versatility and unique style have made him one of the most sought-after guitarists of his generation.
Jesse van Ruller, born in the Netherlands, is one of the most distinguished and sought-after jazz guitarists in the world. He studied at the legendary Hilversum Conservatory and graduated summe cum laude in 1995. In the same year, he became the first European to win the most important jazz competition in the world, the Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition.
At the age of 23, well known among jazz musicians and fans, his stellar career began. He toured and recorded albums with co-musicians such as Seamus Blake, George Duke, Toots Thielemanns, Bill Stewart, John Pattitucci and the list could go on and on. His CDs have been released on renowned labels such as Criss Cross and, apart from combo formations, he has played with major ensembles such as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the WDR Big Band.
