Biennale of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra

The third Biennale of the Berliner Philharmoniker focuses on existential climate challenges. Heat, drought, floods - extreme weather events are hitting us ever more frequently and severely. Our planet is in danger due to climate change and species extinction.

Paradise lost? - The threat to nature

This will take place in three symphony concerts by the Berliner Philharmoniker with chief conductor Kirill Petrenko and conductors Marin Alsop and François-Xavier Roth.

The perspectives are diverse: works such as Debussy's La Mer and Beethoven's "Pastorale" celebrate the beauty of our world, Miroslav Srnka's Superorganisms shows the interconnectedness of life forms, Brett Dean's Fire Music depicts the destruction of a bushfire.

Discussion panels, lectures by experts, collaborations with museums and other orchestras will deepen the theme.

The aim? A sharpened view of the crises and opportunities of our living space.

In Berlin we work together to promote sustainable tourism development that is compatible with the city. The participation of all those involved is particularly important to us.
