Olivier Messiaen's works occupy a unique place in the organ repertoire of the 20th century. Messiaen developed his characteristic musical language early on, which is based on great French models.

However, under the influence of the post-war avant-garde and his visits to Darmstadt and Donaueschingen, Messiaen revised his aesthetic point of view and opened himself up to serial ideas, without, however, foregoing his earlier achievements. The monumental and technically extremely demanding Livre d’Orgue provides impressive evidence of this.

Works performed:

Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583 - 1643)
Toccatas (1615)

Olivier Messiaen (1908 - 1992)
