The interpretations and programs of the Roman organ virtuoso Livia Mazzanti always demonstrate great artistic freedom and creativity. After studying in Italy, she was trained by Jean Guillou in Paris and was influenced artistically through her exchange with Giacinto Scelsi.

Mazzanti combines Italian music from the Renaissance and Baroque with Scelsi's legendary organ piece “In nomine lucis” as well as works by Mario Berlinguer and, on the centenary of his death, Ferrucio Busoni.

Busoni's unusual style moves between late romantic tradition and his own unique ways of tonal expansion and corresponds to Berlinguer's eclectic approach between film music and avant-garde.

Works performed:

Organ works by Carlo Gesualdo, Giacinto Scelsi, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Mario Berlinguer, Domenico Scarlatti and Ferruccio Busoni
