Klaus Lederer and the "Coupers"

First of all, a cultural politician with a doctorate in law discusses whether operas with their violent, sexist and offensive content can still be performed at all - a highly topical question in view of the debates about renaming them!

The basis is a treatise by a certain Mr. von Pidde, who is concerned with "nothing less than the ruthless exposure of the music dramas, especially those of Richard Wagner, as a series of orchestrally embellished criminal offenses." In his astute legal analysis, the expert author comes to the conclusion that in view of such immorality "opera is a dying genre."
