Workshop for FLINTA / women* aged 16 and over

Aphrodite: goddess of love, slim, young, feminine, barely clothed - she shapes ideas of beauty and female sexiness to this day. This workshop invites you to a new encounter and performative, physical confrontation with different female roles and body representations in Greek mythology.

The dance framework is provided by lap dancing as a performative form of body staging that comes from the context of nightclubs. Lap dancing enables creative collaboration in teams of two. Simple performative tasks give participants plenty of room for their own ideas.

Monstrous like Medusa, athletic like Atalante, genderfuck with Omphale - inspired by the women in ancient myths and with the help of props and costumes, participants try out different roles and design idiosyncratic body images. What non-stereotypical stagings of sexiness can we invent?

The workshop is aimed at FLINTA / women* aged 16 and over. The performative, dance units take place in a protected space within the workshop group.

Director/choreographer Margret Schütz develops stage performances together with the performance collective Turbo Pascal, including at the Sophiensälen, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Staatsschauspiel Dresden and leads the participatory project Kiezklub at Heimathafen Neukölln.
