Guided tours and observations of the Berlin night sky
Be very close to heaven - with a trip to the Insulanerhügel in Schöneberg to the Wilhelm Foerster Observatory. Explore the night sky over Berlin and find out everything about the currently visible celestial bodies.
Depending on the weather, observe binary stars, star clusters, planetary nebulae and even galaxies! In addition to a guided tour and guided observation through the large telescope, the “Bamberg Refractor,” you can look through the smaller telescopes on the roof of the observatory and enjoy the beauty of the cosmos.
The event can be attended at any time in the booked 3-hour time slot and takes place regardless of the weather. When the sky is overcast, the magnification of the telescope is illustrated by adjusting objects in the city; when it rains, the focus is on technical aspects and the history of the observatory; unfortunately, the dome cannot be opened.
The path to the observatory is not lit, so please take your own flashlight with you in the dark.
