Art viewing for older people

Inspired by the successful exhibition talk “Talking hands in the work of Käthe Kollwitz” as part of the Berlin Seniors’ Week at the end of June 2023, the museum is once again inviting visitors to a special museum experience this year.

Don’t miss the opportunity to get to know the work of Käthe Kollwitz, the world-famous graphic artist, draughtswoman and sculptor, from various perspectives on three selected Saturday afternoons.

The 90-minute exhibition talks provide special access to the artist’s life and work and focus on the following topics:

The Depiction of the Woman by Käthe Kollwitz  – February 17, 2024

Self-portraits by Käthe Kollwitz – April 13, 2024

Käthe Kollwitz and the Literature – June 15, 2024

Käthe Kollwitz' Talking Hands - 17.08.2024

We take the time to immerse ourselves in the world of Käthe Kollwitz over a cup of tea or coffee. What do we learn about this exceptional artist as a woman, as a mother and as a Berliner? What was she interested in? And how topical are the themes that Käthe Kollwitz depicted artistically?

After a visit to the exhibition, we will get into conversation in small groups and get creative ourselves in the workshop room.
