The exhibition textile traces shows a wide selection of Noa Eshkol's tapestries, which reflect many of her travels and experiences.
The works, often made from uncut pieces of fabric from a wide variety of sources, combine colourful fragments into harmonious compositions. They show scenes of forest landscapes, cosmic phenomena and abstract choreographies and illustrate Eshkol's intuitive approach to her materials.
The tapestries, some of which hang freely in the room, provide insights into the structure of the works on the reverse. Pieces such as Geulas Tree and Halo Light combine depictions of nature with choreographic elements, while Planet draws our gaze into the universe.
Noa Eshkol (1924–2007) was an artist and choreographer. Her work has been exhibited worldwide, including at the Georg Kolbe Museum (2024), the São Paulo Biennale (2021), and LACMA Los Angeles (2012).
