About Nightcrawlers
The walk-in 360° performance installation pays homage to monstrosity and horror, following the Halloween tradition of horror cabinets and haunted houses. The Nightcrawlers have created a fascinating place in the darkness of the Fortuna Wetten in Neukölln. Here, pleasure, dignity and community follow their own rules.
Visit
Every night, 100 brave souls have the opportunity to face the challenging horror experience. Individually designed rooms, dedicated to the various facets of fear, are spread over more than 200 square metres and three floors. Professional performers guide the audience in small groups through the dark world of the Nightcrawlers for an hour.
Queer Visibility
The horror genre has always been a stage for negotiating queer history and identities. Nightcrawlers, Berlin's only queer Halloween Haunt, brings this history to 21st-century Berlin and celebrates state-of-the-art monsters and creatures. At its core is a particular form of fear: ‘body horror’. Deeply rooted in physicality, this genre focuses on the transgressive appearance of the body.
Nightcrawlers promises an unforgettable horror experience with its blend of liminal space aesthetics, Y2K Americana and found footage horror.
