Jazz with many musical roots
In the 1970s and 1980s, musicians from many nations met in the walled-in West Berlin, including the saxophonist Joe Kucera from the Czech Republic and the composer and guitarist Carlos Mieres from Uruguay. They were and are part of a large community of musicians who knew and appreciated each other and have been making music together for almost 40 years. Carlos Mieres composed the Wall Blues from his experiences with the Berlin Wall, before and after it fell.
Together with the pianist Carly Quiroz from Argentina, the two form the Wall Blues Trio, a unique ensemble. The blues can be experienced in this trio's interpretations not only in a soulful way but also in a passionate, skillful and diverse way, because in the masterfully played blues harmonies and melodies you can feel the South American and European musical traditions, the musical virtuosity and the life experience of these outstanding musicians.
Treat yourself to extraordinary musical and inspiring images and experience a perfectly successful symbiosis between the poetry of the soulfully played melodies, the rousing rhythms of the Latin American music genre, the freedom and virtuosity of the jazzy and bluesy improvisations as well as Slavic and Jewish music elements at this long-awaited concert.
