The support association was founded in 1949 to enable the Berlin Philharmonic to build a new concert hall in the destroyed post-war Berlin. Today he supports the purchase of high-quality instruments and the financing of special musical events. Another goal is to improve the Philharmonic's technical equipment and acquire valuable documents for the archive.

The event is freely accessible to members of the Circle of Friends. Guests can obtain admission tickets from 10 a.m. on the day of the event for a fee of €20 per person (€10 for children).
