Dr. Dietmar Hiller on his life with the Konzerthaus Berlin

If someone has been able to pursue their calling with heart and soul for forty years and can look back on almost every day of that time with joy, then that is something very special.

Dr. Dietmar Hiller, who has been working as a dramaturge at the Schauspielhaus Berlin - later the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt - since 1984, has overseen an almost uncountable number of performances by internationally famous soloists and orchestras during this time. In addition, he was and is jointly responsible for the selection of repertoire and the concert introductions for the respective season's program in the renowned concert hall in central Berlin.

Over the decades, he has written hundreds of program booklets with just as many texts for the interested public, which are musicologically at the highest level and at the same time refreshingly understandable.

In four decades of dedicated work for Berlin's great temple of the muses, he remembers many anecdotes about his daily work or about prominent musicians.

Dr. Hiller lets the audience share in this rich treasure of personal memories during his lecture. As always, garnished with many musical examples.
