With a floating elegance, the quartet led by jazz singer Marie Séférian weaves together images, stories, poetry, and music that, despite their lightness, never lose their depth.

This is a musical journey through the history of jazz, pain, and love that resonates long after the last note fades. Equally resonant is Marie's voice—delicate, incredibly slender, yet full of expressive power, the perfect instrument for her masterful improvisations.

"Three Wishes" is the new, fifth album from her quartet. The pieces on this album are inspired by the stories of Pannonica de Koenigswarter, the muse and supporter of many jazz musicians in New York during the 1950s to the 1980s.

Marie’s fascination with Pannonica’s unique personality is captured in this album. It presents a carefully curated selection of original compositions and jazz standards, telling Pannonica’s story in a truly musical way.

Marie Séférian is one of the most esteemed European jazz singers; she has been winning over audiences and critics alike for years with her charisma, voice and well thought-out musical concepts. Growing up in a musical household, she began playing the violin at the age of three, later adding piano and singing.

She studied at the Jazz Institute in Berlin and has received several awards during her career, including a scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and first prize at the Berlin Jazz Prize.

She is now a busy soloist and jazz educator, works with various ensembles worldwide and teaches at workshops and various renowned institutes, including the Berlin University of the Arts.
