The Saxony State Youth Choir unites young, music-loving singers aged 15 to 27 from all parts of Saxony under the umbrella of the Saxon Choral Association.

A broad dynamic and musical range, a diverse repertoire, and—according to the press—a "unique, distinctive sense of sound" are hallmarks of this select ensemble.

The choir meets for up to six project phases per year (weekends or extended weekends, e.g., over holidays) to rehearse and perform selected a cappella programs with professional standards and under professional guidance. One project phase per year is dedicated to choral-symphonic works, realized with cooperation partners from throughout Saxony. Concert tours both in Germany and abroad complement the spectrum of this still young choir.

Founded in 2008 by Marcus Friedrich, the ensemble pursues an educational mission in addition to its artistic aspirations. The State Youth Choir sees itself as an ambassador of communal singing and represents this spirit in concerts and festivals. Since 2015, Ron-Dirk Entleutner has been the artistic director.
