To be or not to be
Klaus Pohl reads from his successful novel Sein oder Nichtsein, which is about Peter Zadek's legendary 1999 production of Hamlet with Angela Winkler in the title role.

As an actor, Pohl was part of the famous ensemble at the time, right in the middle of the months-long staging process of the work of art, together with famous colleagues such as Ulrich Wildgruber, Otto Sander and Eva Mattes.
His novel is a declaration of love to the theatre, a look behind the scenes, where the fear of failure as well as the tears of happiness dominate the picture. A story full of surprising twists and intimate portraits, told in an incredibly funny yet melancholy way.
Klaus Pohl has now written a version of Sein oder Nichtsein exclusively for the RambaZamba Theater, which will celebrate its world premiere on 27 September.
