»LIGHT AND SHADOW« For children aged 10 to 12
With a tradition spanning over 450 years, the Staatskapelle Berlin is one of the oldest orchestras in the world. Founded in 1570 as a court orchestra by Elector Joachim II of Brandenburg, the ensemble found its artistic home in 1742 with the construction of the Royal Court Opera Unter den Linden, initiated by Frederick II of Prussia. Since then it has been firmly linked to the opera house in the heart of Berlin.
