version for choir, soloists, two pianos and timpani

One of the most moving oratorios of the Romantic period: "Ein deutsches Requiem" by Johannes Brahms is performed in a version by the Berlin composer and university professor Heinrich Poos, arranged for choir, soloists, two pianos, and timpani.

Rather than focusing on the deceased, the work is directed at those left behind. The idea of consolation plays a central role here. Through the moving music, the mourners are meant to find comfort and overcome their grief.
