British musician James Bay, known for his long hair and distinctive hat, has firmly established himself in the music world since his breakthrough in 2012. His debut single "Let It Go" shot him straight to the top.
James Bay - Up All Night Tour
Six times platinum, over 3 billion streams and a place in Spotify's "Billions Club" speak for themselves. The song, which perfectly captures alternative folk with its soulful chords and Bay's bluesy voice, reached number 22 in Germany, made it into the top 20 of the US charts and the top 10 in the UK, and gained worldwide attention.
James Bay, deeply rooted in traditional songwriting and folk, proved from the start that he was not a short-lived star. In 2014 he toured the USA with Hozier and played in sold-out venues. His appearance as the opening act for the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park finally brought him his breakthrough. He then recorded his debut album "Chaos And The Calm" in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in 2015, which was a huge success.
Number 1 in the UK, number 3 in Germany, platinum awards and several GRAMMY® nominations, including "Best New Artist" and "Best Rock Album", as well as a sold-out tour in Germany underline his musical talent.
His music, which combines clever lyrics, honest emotions and instrumental brilliance, is reminiscent of artists such as James Blunt, Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard and has earned him numerous awards, including two BRIT Awards, two Q Awards, an Ivor Novello Award and an ECHO Award.
With his new album "Changes All The Time", which will be released in October 2024, James Bay is opening another chapter in his career. For the record he worked with artists such as Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, Brandon Flowers and Holly Humberstone and describes the album as a turning point.
In February 2025, James Bay will start his big UK tour with the new album. Before that, however, fans in Germany have the opportunity to see him live in Berlin - an opportunity that should not be missed.
