The French singer and songwriter IRMA is coming to Berlin in December

If you want to discover her power, just watch the latest
video of her single "House Of Cards". IRMA is standing in her home
city of Paris underneath metro line 6, which is partly an overhead railway,
smiling at the camera and playing this gently grooving, subtly soulful folk
song, which carries a quiet power that can bring down more than just houses of
cards.

But IRMA has been making music for a long time: born in Cameroon, she began taking piano lessons at the age of seven. When she was 15, she came to Paris to attend the Lycée Stanislas. She then attended the first-class ESCP business school, but devoted the little free time she had to her love of music.

IRMA covered hits by the Jackson Five and Stevie Wonder, played guitar and filmed herself for YouTube. This brought her to the attention of the first labels. IRMA then released the strong debut "Letter To The Lord" in 2011. Four more first-class albums between folk, soul and pop have followed to date.

Most recently, the short but powerful "The Sound Of What We Are", on which the delicate "Found The Way Home" and the reduced, haunting "Paris New York", sung in French, are particularly inspiring.

On 18 December 2024, IRMA will return to Germany - this time with a solo show at Berlin's Frannz Club.
