Female Photoclub
Under the title ‘Invisible Lines - Reflections on the Present’, 28 photographers from the Berlin regional group of the Female Photoclub examine the invisible boundaries of our society.
In a time of growing conflict and division, the photographs illuminate the fine lines between closeness and distance, familiarity and foreignness, community and isolation.
The exhibited works deal with socio-critical themes, such as the transformation of life, and deal with motifs such as origin, alternative parenthood and poverty in old age. They show how people deal with their own identity and the challenges faced by marginalised groups. Regional focus, from successful women in Saxony to growing up in a Spanish enclave in Morocco, illustrate the diversity and complexity of the topics. The non-male perspective makes social barriers and the opportunities to overcome them visible.
‘Invisible Lines’ creates a dialogue between individual perspectives and larger social structures, invites reflection on the fractures of our time and encourages us to find ways to overcome them.
