Can you still hear or can you already feel? International Museum Day at the MIM is all about sound

Supernaturally beautiful, but also extremely dangerous - this is how people around 1800 perceived the sounds of the glass harmonica. The modular synthesizer of the 1970s is experiencing a revival in Berlin clubs. What do sounds trigger in people and where does the longing for ever new, ever more perfect sounds come from?

Embark on a sound adventure at the Musical Instrument Museum:

On International Museum Day, you can learn how modular synthesizers work, hear and see the Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ first virtually in the Sound & Vision Experience Lab, then live in the museum and finally experience glass harmonica virtuoso Bruno Kliegl on the dangerously beautiful instrument.

How people feel sound and how it affects them is also the subject of a research project at the State Institute for Music Research. Among other things, sense:ability is about the ability of our senses to perceive music. The presentation of the project is at the heart of the program
