Performance by Ixchel Mendoza Hernández

A journey into the realm of connection: The new performance "The Infinite Gesture" by Ixchel Mendoza Hernández, which premieres in mid-December at Radialsystem, explores the transformative power of touch, connection and empathy.

The sensitive gesture of touch creates an intertwined choreographic landscape in which three performers meet and ask questions about social interaction.

In "The Infinite Gesture" they examine different perspectives of connecting, from skin-to-skin contact to symbolic, metaphysical and socio-political dimensions of being together.

In the performance, Ixchel Mendoza Hernández allows the potential for change of touch in relation to power structures, dependency and care to be experienced and looks for alternative narratives for this network of relationships.

Berlin-based choreographer and performer Mendoza Hernández has been researching a phenomenon she calls "Visual Ghost" for many years - a constantly changing awareness of perception and inner virtuality.

In a world in which the visible and the invisible, subjective and objective realities are closely interwoven, she investigates how the immaterial, the invisible can become "present" through physical experience. Using choreographic means, she explores how we can reconstruct and reshape perceptual realities.

"The Infinite Gesture" will be premiered in the Radialsystem rooms as part of the  cooperation between Tanzfabrik Berlin and Radialsystem.

With the "Radialsystem ♥ Tanzfabrik" initiative, the two institutions are cooperating to specifically improve the presentation conditions of dance artists.
