Daniil Orlov

Daniil Orlov, a Berlin-based pianist and composer from Russia, known for his notable work in Kirill Serebrennikov’s productions, including Barocco and Legende (Thalia Theater Hamburg, Ruhr Festival), presents his solo project – IMPROBACH, a fresh perspective on the music of the past, centered around a composer he holds in the highest regard: Johann Sebastian Bach.

"IMPROBACH is a play on words. From one side, it’s about connection of Bach and improvisation – something that was at the heart of the style of his time, but is often forgotten today. And at the same time, it's a statement: I’m pro Bach. For me, he is not just a valued musical figure of the past, but a living source of inspiration, freedom, and renewal. Let’s experience his music as if it were written today".
