Discover entertainment and consumer electronics at the IFA in Berlin
IFA 2025 will take place from September 5 to 9 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The next world's leading trade fair for consumer and home electronics will again attract in 2025 a wide audience to the halls at the radio tower.
The latest inventions in communication technology and the show programme at the IFA summer garden make it one of Berlin’s most popular events.
The world's largest consumer and electronics show has been held in Berlin since 1924, making it one of the capital’s oldest trade fairs. Nowadays it attracts visitors from more than 100 countries. At the exhibition grounds at the Funkturm in Charlottenburg, you can look forward not only to the latest innovations in electronic media , but also to public events including autograph sessions, concerts, games and e-sports.
The IFA – a long tradition of information and entertainment
In the 1920s, exhibitors mainly presented crystal sets, headphones and valve radios at the annual fair. The 1930s brought new products such as car radios and tape recorders. Over the years, many electronic innovations were first shown to the public at the IFA. After the Second World War, the cycle was changed to every two years, but since 2006, it has once again taken place annually in Berlin. Nowadays the IFA, also known as Consumer Electronics Unlimited, attracts a quarter of a million visitors, more than half of whom are trade visitors from all over the world. More than 1,400 exhibitors open up a whole new world of electronic innovations on a site of over 140,000 m².
The target group is getting younger and younger. Children and teenagers can immerse themselves in virtual realities with VR goggles, find out about the latest gaming gadgets or test out the latest smartphones. Another increasing focus is the intelligent household. Whether it’s a smart coffee machine or an internet-capable toothbrush, networking of everyday objects is much in demand from consumers. What makes the fair even more attractive is the colourful entertainment programme that accompanies it and attracts spectators during the day. As well as the numerous autograph sessions with celebrities from sports, television and music, you can also visit one of the attractive concerts at the IFA summer garden.
