Hotel Europa: Volkslieder & Arnulf Herrmann
This evening, the RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin will present the world premiere of Hotel Europa, a composition by Arnulf Herrmann for choir and nine instruments.
The work is based on poems by four authors from different European countries: Kamil Bouška from the Czech Republic contributed the poem Haus, the British poet Sasha Dugdale the text Chor im Morgengrauen, Golgona Anghel from Portugal wrote the verses Die Vögel fallen wie Steine vom Himmel, and the Austrian writer and director Händl Klaus is represented with Winterzimmer.
In the first half of the concert, the RIAS Chamber Choir will present folk songs from the home countries of individual choir members, including Argentina, Austria, Ireland, Japan and South Africa.
