Summer holiday action for children from 5 years

In the castle garden, the games from the time of the royal children can be replayed. A popular pastime of courtly society in the 17th and 18th centuries was the mail game. In France - at the time of Louis XIV - this "ball striking" was the game of the nobility. For this purpose, flat mail courses were laid out, lined with shady avenues. Later, the similarly played "croquet" on the lawn prevailed among the people.

Players and spectators have a lot of fun at our hobbyhorse races, a race in which the wooden hobbyhorses between the legs are quite a hindrance. Also popular in the 18th century was the game of skittles, which is still often played today.

After playing, you can visit the castle and look at the portraits of princes and princesses.

Vacation event with castle director Dr. Margrit Schulze for children aged 5 and up.
