Guided tours of the cabinet exhibition and the library room

In the smaller room ("Cabinet"), this year's Spandovia Sacra presents an overview of the history and holdings of the historic church library of St. Nicholas. The exhibition offers the opportunity to glimpse this treasure through the keyhole, so to speak.

The St. Nicholas Parish in Spandau boasts one of the few church libraries in Brandenburg whose holdings have survived for centuries without major loss.

All phases of Brandenburg-Prussia's cultural development – the Lutheran Reformation, the change of denomination in 1613, the rise of Huguenot spirituality, and the Enlightenment – left their mark, so that the library itself can be considered a cultural monument.

Public tours of the cabinet exhibition and the library room are available:

  • Usually every two weeks on Fridays at 4:30 p.m. (except on August 15 and September 26). Duration: approximately 45 minutes:
  • April 25, May 9, May 23 (topic: Architecture of the House), June 6, June 20 (topic: Architecture of the House), July 4, July 18, August 1, August 29, September 12, October 10, and October 24 (last tour of the current exhibition).

Admission and tour are free. The museum is located in a medieval half-timbered building and is therefore unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

Donations are requested.
