Maximilian Nowka sings Max Hansen

As a singer, cabaret artist and actor, Max Hansen is one of the great entertainment stars of the Weimar Republic. He was u.a. the first pay waiter Leopold in the “Weißes Rössl” and co-founder of the KaDeKo (cabaret of comedians) in Berlin.

After performing sharp-tongued chansons, Max Hansen emigrated first to Vienna, and in 1938 to Copenhagen, his mother's country of origin. Like many other artists in exile, Max Hansen was no longer able to build on his former successes after the cultural break of the Nazi era. In a cheerful, profound programme, directed by Annette Klare, Maximilian Nowka, together with Rudolf Hild on the piano, recalls this great artist.

After performances in Hamburg, Berlin and Munich, among others, they were invited to Copenhagen by the Danish cultural attaché.
