On the annual European Day of Restoration, restorers from a wide range of disciplines from Germany and across Europe invite you to exclusive insights into their work.
Restoration is an important discipline in art, architecture, archaeology, collections, and monument preservation. It ensures the transmission of history, gives cultural heritage a face—and a future.
Three guided tours will explain examination methods, the possibilities and limitations of restoration, using the oldest and largest embroidery in the Brandenburg textile treasure, the so-called Hunger Cloth from around 1290, as an example. There will also be an opportunity to take a look through a microscope.
