Performance only for school classes!
Grandpa Werner was the Reich Railway Director in Krakow. In France, his granddaughter meets a couple from Toulouse - Jean and Marie Vaislic, who survived Auschwitz and Ravensbrück.
Jean, then Janek Vaislic, had to lay tracks as an inmate in Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp that Grandpa might have planned. The encounter with Jean and Marie inspires the granddaughter to develop a puppet theater evening to combat forgetting.
Ilka Vierkant is an actress who toured Europe with FAMILIE FLÖZ for many years. For her, the granddaughter of a Nazi perpetrator, the encounter with the survivors of the Holocaust raises many questions and painful feelings, which she addresses in her play.
After the play, the students have the opportunity to talk about the play with Ilka Vierkant and Dr. Stephanie Bohra from the Topography of Terror Documentation Center.
