The concert focuses on pieces by Francesco Geminiani, who used Irish or English melodies as the basis for his own artistic variations.

"Give me your hand" is the title of an Irish melody, written around 1600 as a gesture of reconciliation: a harpist wrote it after an argument with a noble lady, who eventually apologized to him for her arrogant behavior. Reconciliation and connections between cultures are themes that have lost none of their relevance.

The rich and sonorous and yet rarely performed repertoire that arose from the combination of various musical spheres of the Baroque period can be heard in this concert.

The performers are Silke Strauf (viola da gamba), Gösta Funck (harpsichord).
