in German only: Focus on the eyes: modern medicine for clear vision
The spectrum of ophthalmology ranges from diseases of the eyelids, cornea and conjunctiva to diseases of the retina and optic nerve. These can be the result of an underlying disease such as diabetes or high blood pressure, have a genetic cause or be age-related. Infections or tumors can also damage the eye.
Dr. Anne Rübsam and Prof. Oliver Zeitz from the Department of Ophthalmology will talk about the most common eye conditions and modern treatment options.
For example, they will discuss diseases of the retinal vessels such as retinopathies or circulatory disorders of the eye as well as macular degeneration. The experts will provide information on gentle surgical techniques for cataracts and glaucoma as well as new methods of retinal and vitreous surgery. They will also report on current research projects and answer your questions.
