»Funkoper II ‒ 100 Jahre Radio Musik«

In 2025, the Berlin Chamber Symphony will present the new concert series FunkOper - 100 Years of Radio Music and will bring four varied programs to the stage on four concert evenings in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie.

In collaboration with the Berlin Radio Choir and the Berlin Singakademie, the series will shed light on the fascinating history of radio music, which began 100 years ago with the founding of the "Funkstunde" in Berlin.

From the very beginning, the independent public broadcaster shaped music culture, promoted new composition concepts and established the format of the funk opera - a form of opera created for the radio that is particularly suitable for concert performances.

Experience radio concerts live with Stefan Lang, the long-time presenter of Deutschlandradio Kultur, and discover twelve composers who enrich Berlin's concert life.
