A performance that seems to have tumbled directly from “Babylon-Berlin” into the present day and onto the Jewish culture ship MS Goldberg

Swing with a difference - Heartbeat music from the 20s and 30s with German lyrics.

Chanson-nette Jeannette Urzendowsky, Tal Balshai on piano, Michael Wirth on drums and Markus Behrsing (clarinet/saxophone) recall Jewish artists whose careers in Germany ended abruptly with National Socialism with swinging titles from the rich cabaret repertoire and stories from Berlin and Vienna.

The delicate, quiet tones and sophisticated compositions by Werner Richard Heymann or Friedrich Hollaender, the intelligent, cheeky texts by Robert Gilbert, Willi Rosen, Walter Mendelssohn, Kurt Tucholsky and others - a performance as if straight out of “Babylon Berlin” into the present day - and tumbled onto the MS Goldberg!
Chanson-Nette is an honorary ambassador of the German Cabaret Archive.

How to get there?
The Jewish cultural ship MS Goldberg is located on the banks of the Havel in Spandau between Sedanstrasse and Dischinger Brücke/Ruhlebener Strasse. From Berlin-Spandau S-Bahn station or Rathaus Spandau underground station, walk down to the river and follow the Havel riverbank path to the right until you reach the ship (approx. 15 minutes). A path also leads from the bus stop “Ruhlebener Straße / Brunsbütteler Damm” to the Havel and MS Goldberg. By car, it is best to park in the area of Sedanstraße near the shore.
ATTENTION!!! This Voll uff Swing evening was originally planned to take place at another berth of the MS Goldberg on the banks of the Spree in Berlin-Friedrichshain. However, the MS Goldberg will now remain at its original berth in Spandau in December.

Accessibility

The culture ship is barrier-free, there are only minor difficulties at the entrance, but these can be overcome.
