Romantic chamber music with book presentation

Friedrich Kiel (1821 – 1885) is an important composer of the 19th century between academicism and romanticism. He is apostrophized as a 'Wittgensteiner Brahms', but also as a 'modern Bach'. The focus of his musical work primarily includes chamber, piano and church music. There is also a small selection of orchestral works, songs and solo concerts.

His first grave site was in the Old Twelve Apostle Cemetery in Berlin-Schöneberg, before he was reburied in 1971 in the cemetery of his birthplace, Puderbach. The wall grave still exists and is a sponsorship grave of the Friedrich Kiel Society.

Program:

Friedrich Kiel: Small Suite for violin and piano op. 77 (1881)
Two Nocturnos o. Op. (1875)
