Sold-out tours and a cheering press. In just a few years, Martin Bechler, head and singer of the Cologne-based indie band Fortuna Ehrenfeld, took his project from a moderately attended pub concert to a sold-out Cologne Philharmonic.

With his idiosyncratic poetry and unpredictable sound cosmos, he has created a completely independent genre. At rare solo concerts, Bechler takes us back to his study and his piano, where the songs for Fortuna are created before he puts them through the wringer with his playful band. In solo at the piano, quiet, deep spaces open up - lyrics and his unmistakable voice come to the fore.
In 2024 he will be awarded the German Cabaret Prize for his "intoxicating melodies and musical resistance".
