The classical music highlight at Easter
As an annual classical music festival, the Festtage der Staatsoper Berlin is the cultural highlight on Easter days, performed at two venues at once: the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Philharmonie Berlin.

Norma, probably the most famous opera by the bel canto composer Bellini, who was already admired by his contemporaries, is coming to the stage of the State Opera in a new production for the 2025 festive season.
The programme for the days around Easter also includes Wagner's Parsifal, probably one of the most extraordinary works in opera history.
Pierre Boulez was born exactly 100 years ago and was closely associated with the Staatskapelle Berlin and its orchestra as its honorary conductor. The Festtage concert, conducted by Simone Young, is dedicated to him.
It will feature music by composers with whom Boulez had a strong affinity: Gustav Mahler and Alban Berg.
And the Staatskapelle's own Notations, composed for an opulent orchestra, can be heard at the Festtage concert.

Classical festival with tradition
The festival was founded in 1996 by the Argentine-Israeli conductor Daniel Barenboim. They take place every year around Easter and present classical music under top-class direction.

The festivities take place at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Philharmonie. Both venues have hardly any parking spaces to offer. Therefore, be sure to travel by public transportation. The Staatsoper stop can be reached by buses on lines 100, 245 and 300. You can reach the Philharmonie from the Potsdamer Platz S-Bahn station or by taking bus line 300, Philharmonie stop.
