Fashion trends from 400 years ago
In February 2025, the Berliner Salon, a group exhibition of young designers, will be a guest at the Gemäldegalerie as part of Fashion Week. There is hardly a better place in the city to trace the fashion changes of the past and its fashionistas.
During the tour of the Gemäldegalerie, the art historian Martin Hanßen puts epoch-making trends from almost 400 years of fashion history - from its beginnings in the Burgundian Netherlands around 1400 to the French Revolution - into dialogue with the presentation of young fashion designers.
