"This group began like many of thefiner things in life, by complete accident. Separate chance meetings (one on abus and one in a bar) brought us together. We have been close friends andplaying music together since the summer of 2015. There was never a 'plan' forhow we should play together, or what material. The nature of the music we playhas progressed as intuitively as it began.

Discovering our mutual love ofthe music of Duke Ellington, as well as other great jazz composers such asThomas 'Fats' Waller, Thelonious Monk and Herbie Nichols, has helped shape thegroup's sound. The paired sensations of Free Jazz and the sense of joy weexperience when we play together I can safely say that the trio has come tohave a distinctive sound."
