Museum for a summer in Sacrow
Avant-gardes were used as a field of experimentation for aesthetic and political discourse, reflecting the socialupheavals of their time. While classical depictions of physicality usually refer to religious or secular ideals, the selected works in the Miettinen Collection show fragmented, pop and queer images of the body that refer to changing role models and concepts of the body, group affiliations and gender attributions.
The exhibition at Sacrow Castle is part of a large series of exhibitions of the Miettinen Collection, which comprises around 2000 works, with other venues in Berlin, Helsinki and Düsseldorf
