A celebration concert for Anton Bruckner's 200th birthday

The special fascination of Anton Bruckner lies in his unique synthesis of severity and joie de vivre, of excess and mysticism, of fear and solemnity.

To mark his 200th birthday on September 4th, one of his most important works for choir and orchestra will be performed in the Berlin Cathedral: the TE DEUM from 1883/84.

This performance is accompanied by choral motets by the composer as well as previously undiscovered pieces by his Jewish friend Adalbert von Goldschmidt.

In addition, contemporary composers from Finland will be heard with their musical interpretations of Bruckner's radically contrasting style.
