Expert tour with Eva Wollschläger, curator of the KPM archive, SPSG, followed by a tea ceremony
The collection expert from the SPSG's KPM archive, Eva Wollschläger, presents the interiors of the Neue Kammern guest palace in Sanssouci Park, which are among the last decorative spatial creations that Frederick the Great had implemented according to his ideas.
The ornamentation of the Frederician Rococo once again unfolded into impressive beauty and stylish elegance in the banquet halls and guest apartments of this castle. In a multi-faceted search for clues, the close connections between interior design and porcelain creations by KPM Berlin in this last phase of the Frederician Rococo are shown.
The influence that Frederick the Great had on artistic design and how artfully porcelain motifs, decorative ideas and imaginative interior designs are combined is made clear using selected examples.
The guests then take a seat at the royal table in the Blue Gallery and take part in a tea ceremony with high-quality porcelain. When tasting different types of tea and delicacies, a tea sommelier gives exciting insights into the world of tea and makes the drinkers become kings.
