BERLINER BLUES MUGGE - A musicians' city derby between a boogie master and masters of hard guitar riffs. Both bands were and are engines of the blues or customer scene. The blues musicians in the GDR developed their own language to differentiate themselves. In musicians' jargon, "Mugge" is an abbreviation for "musical occasional business".

"(I myself saw the meaning more in "mugging", since the butcher's shirts and parkas did not necessarily correspond to the social norm. F.S.)"

One evening - two Berlin bands - two types of city blues, you can dance, remember and dream along.

Wolfram Boddi Bodag and the band Engerling stand for the blues, but this pattern would be far too narrow. For all these years the band has been persistently refining their own style, but always with intelligent lyrics. They are the older band (1975).

Monokel Kraftblues stand for a harder version of the rock-heavy blues. A year after Engerling (1976), their music has a rougher tone of the street and hard guitar riffs.
